 STATEMENT OF FAITH

1.   SCRIPTURE ~ We believe that the Scriptures are the inspired Word of God and that they are they are our supreme and final authority in faith and life.

2.   GODHEAD ~ We believe in one God, eternally existing in Three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each of whom possess equally all the attributes of deity and the characteristics of personality.

3.   JESUS ~ We believe that Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.  He died on the cross, the complete and final sacrifice for our sins  according to the Scriptures.  Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into Heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.

4.   HOLY SPIRIT ~ We believe that the Holy Spirit came to glory Christ.  He is the primary agent for conviction of sin, regeneration.  The Holy Spirit indwells, guides, instructs, and empowers the believer to lead a life of Christ-like character and to bear fruit to the glory of God.

5.   SALVATION ~ We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provided the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe.  Repentance is a turning toward God and away from sin and is a part of but not separate from believing faith.  “The Gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” and those who receive Jesus Christ by faith are born again and become children of God.

6.   CHURCH ~ We believe that the Church is the body of Christ of which Jesus is the Head and whose members are those who have received Christ by faith.  Since all  members of the body of Christ are united in Christ by the same Spirit, they should live in love, harmony, and unity.  The purpose of the church is to make Christ known to the lost, to make disciples, and to glorify God on earth.

7.   CHRIST’S RETURN ~ We believe that Christ shall return to receive the Church according to a timetable set and known by God alone.

8.   ETERNITY ~ We believe in the resurrection of the just and the unjust; of the believer to the everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.

9.   BELIEVER’S LIFE ~ We believe that every believer should be in a growing relationship with Christ by obeying God’s Word, yielding to the Holy Spirit and by being conformed to the image of Christ.
